An interactive gaming experience that users could quite literally, "rave" about!
A SNOW PARTY?
At the end of 2022, JBL came to us with one goal, signups. More specifically, they wanted to increase the number of their email signups and hoped to do this in a seamless and enjoyable way. What better than creating an interactive gaming experience?
Building upon our existing research around gamification we proposed a concept for a game that users could quite literally rave about, a "Snow Party"...
A RIDE LIKE NO OTHER
Players would race down a winding halfpipe on their snowboard avoiding obstacles to arrive in time to the JBL Snow Party. They would avoid obstacles by moving left and right and jumping up to whizz through the slopes of Val Thorens as fast as possible. The party itself was hosted by the one and only Martin Garrix, world famous DJ, and there was an exclusive Martin Garrix soundtrack which was played throughout the whole experience.
AN IN-GAME EXPERIENCE UNPARALLELED
We devised and mapped out the game concept, alongside the 3D character creation, programming and gaming logic, scripting out a full narrative for the game around the Martin Garrix snow party. Over an intensely short period, our designers and developers used a number of game development platforms to create a series of 3D characters and animations that existed within in-game environments and moved around various objects and obstacles in order to make it to the end of the finish line and witness Garrix's set.
NOT JUST A GAME
We also played a fundamental role in the look of the 15 gaming fixtures. Tchai built an arcade booth with magnetic overlays and we designed the game framework to go within it. These arcade booths were available in 5 countries and the game itself was translated into German, French, Spanish, English and Dutch.
SOME SUPER STATS
With more than 30,000 people having played the game in-store to date, we can't wait to see what sort of results the summer version brings!
Though we started the first of these super exciting collabs back in the winter of 2022, we have been steadily evolving the core gamification concept in preparation for a very cool summer 2023 campaign... watch this space!
